YouTube Review: Infinite Waters (Ralph Smart)

This is the man who I was totally obsessed with almost every day for an entire YEAR. I was enthralled by the wisdom spewed forth from this charismatic young Brit. Before, I had always thought YouTube was just full of clips of cats on skateboards, music videos andΒ  immature humour for teens. I had no idea it was a treasure trove of audio books, useful how-to videos and most fascinatingly, vlogs. Everyday people sharing their knowledge.

Granted, 90% of vlogs are utter pap – but not our boy Ralph. Under the Infinite Waters guise, he has been vlogging the wisdom of life for 8 years and in the last 2 or 3, has hit an incredible audience. When I started watching about 18 months ago, he had around 200,000 subscribers. An impressive figure by itself.

He now has over 1 MILLION subscribers –Β  testament to the fact that he has perfected his craft but most importantly, has struck a chord with an enormous band of society.

These people are people like me; looking for answers. Answers to why their lives are in so much pain. Answers to why the world is the way it is. Answers to the big questions such as “Who are we?” and “What is our purpose?” and “Why do we think and act the way we do?”.

THE CAT DOWN THE ROAD

Mr. Smart may well be wise beyond his years but what made me click with him was that he speaks to you in a down to Earth manner, with lots of humour. His now patented “Can I get a helloooooo there!” and my personal fave (which cracks me up every single time) “Slow motion that side……OOOOOOOHHHHHHWWWWW!!” reveal a uniquely fun side which lightens the tone of what would otherwise be very serious topics which people are basically looking for help with.Β  Such as how to stop overthinking. How to deal with negative people. How to find your life purpose.

He also pushes the boundaries by going into extreme spiritual territory, with topics on the law of attraction, indigo kids, psychedelic drugs, the pineal gland and ancient Egyptian laws.

I’d never heard anyone talk about these things before, so for it to come from someone around my age, from the same country and also a black male (though as Ralph will tell you, there is no such thing as race!) it made me feel as though I was on the right pathway, at a time when I was going through huge and lonely upheaval with regards my spiritual awakening.

Infinite Waters was there for me – every morning at breakfast, to start my day with a cheery “And we ain’t even had breakfast yet!”. And if you are looking for someone to inspire you to create the life of your dreams (he went from anxiety and his Mum’s house in London, to a YouTube sensation travelling the world and living in LA – spookily similar to how my journey is unfolding) he should be there for you too. He certainly inspired me, and for that, I thank you Ralph for all the good ass prana, baby!
