Welcome to part 3 of the story of my crazy, totally unexpected, life changing, spiritual awakening! To summarise part 1 and part 2:
After recovery from an anxiety disorder, I was left with a mess to deal with. I was going nowhere and needed guidance, answers as to what to do next.
They came to me in the form of a book “Think and Grow Rich”, which opened my eyes to a different way of looking at success and work.
From this, I began questioning EVERYTHING. Information began to seemingly fall into my vision which I’d ignored or been oblivious to my entire life, about everything from healthcare and education to spirituality and science.
For 12 months, I studied literally every day: books, videos, courses, websites, whatever info I could find, I devoured it.
From quantum physics to ancient history
Japanese reiki to global conspiracies
Vegan diets to neuroscience
The law of attraction to Buddhism.
My mind had been opened to completely different ways of life and alternative viewpoints, many of which I’d baulked at before. But I could see how they were all connected by one major factor;
They made far more sense than the often ridiculous and counter-intuitive ways of living that most of us were brought up blindly to believe and never to question.
The big game changer for me, after “Think and Grow Rich”, was learning about quantum physics (the study of matter at an atomic level). Why this was so important to my awakening was because it basically proved that our reality is not what it seems.
And I do mean SCIENTIFICALLY proves it.
To me, a staunch atheist and believer in science, this was a decisive factor. And it wasn’t new science either. Quantum physics has been around since the late 19th century. These weren’t some new-fangled, still-to-be-proven theories.
Albert Einstein was one of the pioneers! If you aren’t gonna believe the most famous genius the planet has ever known, for fucks sake, who can you believe? Actually, he spent the latter part of his life trying to DISPROVE his own findings. But never did. Which tells you a lot about their validity.
What quantum physics has shown (and has never been disproved, by the way) is that everything is made of energy. The old Newtonian physics we were taught at school? That everything is either solid matter or some form of wave?
I’m energy, you are energy, the chair you’re sitting in is energy, your pet cat is energy, the car that ran it over and left it with only three legs is energy, the cake you’re eating is energy (put DOWN the cake!) EVERYTHING IS ENERGY!
There is no solid, hard matter. If you look through a microscope at the tiny particles known as “atoms” that make up everything, you would eventually see……NOTHING. Because there is nothing there but little packets of energy.
Now that should be enough to fuck with your mind and make you rethink your reality. But if it doesn’t, check out this article. This is the very one that a year ago, turned my life around. It’s not in-depth but it has links to articles which are.
It’s a subject which requires time and attention (particularly the double-slit experiment, which is mind blowing and requires a separate post all of its own!) but once you fully take it in, it will change your perception of reality forever.
The very notion that the observer creates their own reality…….I mean, WOW! And that EVERYTHING in this world is connected. The implications are mind-bending!
As Niels Bohr (a pioneer quantum physicist) said:
“Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real. If quantum mechanics hasn’t profoundly shocked you, you haven’t understood it yet.”
I KNOW NOTHING!
I’m not claiming I know ALL the answers. I can’t say I know for certain what our reality or perception of reality is. What I DO know, is that I know NOTHING! Which is more than most people are willing to admit. Because most people have not opened up their mind enough to delve into this. Once you do, you realise that nothing is as straightforward as we’ve been taught.
There’s little doubt we are all made of energy but as for what that actually means…….who the fuck knows? But I’m willing to remain open-minded on that and keep learning to see what science or my own experiences, teach me.
That was the start of me going down the rabbit hole. I learnt so much over the next 12 months and I’ll be sharing all of that with you on this blog.
Suffice to say, once you realise that reality is not what it seems, it makes you wonder what else within reality needs examining.
What I found was that there are many inspirational people out there who had also undergone this awakening and used it to turn their lives around from rock-bottom into something incredible. These were the people I started studying. You may be familiar with some of the names:
and many other, less famous names (including Ralph Smart, Brett Moran, Alexi Panos) who I will introduce you to in the coming months.
All of these people were expressing the same messages of love, hope, positivity, empowerment and spirituality that are starting to change the world; slowly but gradually getting quicker and quicker. I want to bring you along for the ride because I know if you are in a bad place right now, what I’ve learnt can help you out of it and onto great things.
In the final part of my spiritual awakening series, I explain the most important things I’ve learned during my awakening. Hasta luego!
Timothy! I’m soooo loving your posts! It’s great that you’re spreading this message, so much loove and positive vibes! Those people you mention are inspirational, everyone should learn about them. I’m trying to wrap my head around the quantum world!! It’s not easy but that link you provided is helping. Thank you soooo much for this. Keep going!!
Thanks Charlie, that really means a lot to me 🙂 Yeah, Quantum physics can be a bit of a head-fuck. I recommend watching the “Dr Quantum” video about the double-slit experiment. Search for it on YouTube. It’s a cartoon but it’s easily the best explanation I’ve seen of the double slit. Also a film called “What the Bleep Do We Know”. Keep reading!
Hey Tim, quantum physics blew my mind too! I had some very powerful experiences with energy healing before I heard about quantum physics, and I’ve always kinda felt that everything is one and everything is energy, but it was awesome to discover that science actually proved it!
Was it Reiki by any chance? I had a session once and that’s what really convinced me that the whole energy thing is real. I’ll be writing about that soon 🙂
No, it wasn’t Reiki, but from what I know about Reiki, it was similar. The therapy I did is simply called “spiritual healing” (I think that would be the English translation) and the healer studied at College of Psychic Studies in London. She has her own school for spiritual healing here in Slovenia now. Years after my first powerful experience with energy healing and just months after my second extremely powerful spiritual experience (something I will write about one day too), I started (and successfully finished) studies for spiritual healing at her school.
Anyway, looking forward to hear about your experience with Reiki. I know people who are big sceptics about this kind of stuff and their main “argument” is that it’s just placebo, but once you experience something so powerful, you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the spiritual/energy world is just as real as the physical one. Actually no, let me correct myself, it’s more real than the physical one cause the physical one is just an illusion 😉 Have you read Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch? I love these books!
Absolutely! And I was as big a skeptic as anyone. I don’t blame people for thinking it’s not real but once you experience something yourself, it changes everything. For me, reike was my first big physical experience of anything spiritual or that we can’t see. It certainly wasn’t a placebo effect, it was as real as anything I’ve felt.
It’s funny because a friend who I recently met is currently reading Conversations with God, so I’m gonna borrow it from her. In fact, I’ve recently met two people who both claim to have had a voice/god speak to them before.
Yes, things are starting to happen in my life which are really unusual and exciting, can’t wait to write about them 🙂
